The Club again held it's 'Navy Day', this year on 7th May 2016

Unfortunately, the weather was poor, with a fairly strong south-easterly.  As a result, it was decided to postpone most naval action on the water, apart from some of the larger vessels capable of handling the conditions.

Also, one of the smaller vessels whose 'captain' had 'put out to sea' was caught by a swell on the beam, which, as well as a forced astern manoevre, resulting in it's unfortunate foundering.  One of the Club members, displaying his Dutch heritage in salvage, performed an underwater rescue, bringing the sunken model to dry land, for it to sail again in the future!

Thanks again to Piet B for organizing, even though the 'war had to be postponed due to the weather' !!
